Bear-Paw is hard at work!
Once land is in conservation, the fun work can begin. Bear-Paw has a team of staff, board and committee members, and volunteers who help us steward the land and showcase properties with outreach and education.

Stroll for the Senses
Preparation for a past fundraiser event, Stroll for the Senses, took weeks. There were multiple workdays during that time dedicated to ensuring that Al’s stunning property would look its best for the big day.
Evans Mountain
Volunteers have worked on re-opening the old trail leading from Parker Mountain to Evans Mountain, where there are several beautiful views of Bow Lake and the surrounding area. Many work days have been spent on building a bridge, cutting back brush, and invasive species pulling. Our volunteer’s knowledge and chainsaws are invaluable!
North River Preserve
Bear-paw’s own North River Preserve has seen many stewardship projects through the years to help repair existing trails that had been damaged by erosion, build a bridge, removed invasive bittersweet, and build a parking area with a kiosk. We also hold our annual Halloween scavenger hunt here.
Burbank Woods Preserve
Volunteers have helped steward this wonderful preserve over the years. With the expansion of the parking area cutting and clearing out a small patch of dead & dying trees. A small offshoot trail was also created, allowing visitors to walk down to the edge of the nearby wetland.
